Thank you for showing an interest in Ilfracombe Art & Craft Society.

The society is a registered charity. Our main purpose is to further the interests in local art and crafts and to raise money to support local charities and good causes.

There is a membership fee of £25 per year for a full space and £15 per year for a half space, with an additional deposit of £40 for your first year (the deposit will be refunded at the end of the year if you have satisfactorily completed the year). We need take this deposit to deter anyone for joining for a few months then leaving partway through the year – which causes a shortage of stewards for the centre.

The current commission is 25% on all sales and any commissions gained through the society. This goes towards the general running of the centre and any surplus profits are donated between several

Members are required to steward in the centre for a full day once a fortnight (for a full space display) or a full day once a month (for a half space display). It may be possible for a member to nominate a responsible, competent adult to do their required duty with the approval of the committee.

Our year starts mid-February (in time for school half term) and ends 1st/2nd January.

At present our stewarding times are as follows:

Feb - Easter - Monday – Sunday 10:30am – 3:30pm

Easter - Oct half term - Monday – Sunday 10:30am – 4:30pm

Oct half term - Jan - Monday – Sunday 10:30am – 3:30pm

Stewarding duties include welcoming visitors, assisting customers, recording sales, and taking payments (cash and card), packing items, and watching over the centre etc. You will be on duty with another member and would never be expected to sit alone.

As we do not have a cleaner, we expect members to keep their display area clean and tidy, and to ensure that the general appearance of the whole centre is kept clean and tidy.

If you would like to apply to become a member and join the society, please fill in the application form below and pop into the Local Art & Craft Centre with a small selection of sample of your work for review and approval by the committee.

This process can take up to two weeks then a member of the committee will be in touch with a decision.
